On the morning of November 18, the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and the Ganjiang Innovation Academy, Chinese Academy of Sciences held a discussion and exchange on the joint training of talents for the "Innovation Pilot Class".The meeting was held in A513, Rare Earth Building, Huangjin Campus.Liao Wuping, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Ganjiang Innovation Academy, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ma Yonggen, Director of Personnel and Education Department, Guo Hongxia, Deputy Director, Gong YaoTeng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of our university, Jia Qunyan, Minister of Student Work Department of the Party Committee, Wang Hang, Dean of Rare Earth Institute, and Qi Liang, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs Department, attended the seminar.
Gong Yaoteng pointed out that the opening of the innovation pilot class is an important and innovative attempt to jointly train talents from both sides, and all aspects of work should break through the inertia thinking and create a new way of training.In the cultivation of talents, we should implement the training programme with the guiding ideology of "research power, innovation power, service power and the heart of serving the country", strengthen the practice and bold innovation, so that the knowledge can enter the brains and hearts of students, serve the society and melt into the construction of the country.In terms of work construction, a "short process, quick response and focus" model should be established, and a linkage mechanism with the Chinese Academy of Sciences should be set up so that work can be implemented effectively, quickly and precisely.
Liao Wuping expressed his affirmation of the work carried out by the Rare Earth Institute. He pointed out that the talent cultivation of the innovation pilot class should establish a more targeted cultivation program, expose students to scientific research earlier, teach them according to their talents, and rely on the educational resources of CAS to provide students with better cultivation conditions.At the same time, ideological education should be developed in parallel. The innovative pilot class should strengthen red culture education and do a good job of ideological leadership, so that students can become talents who can contribute to the country and are loyal to it.In addition, he hoped that both sides would strengthen their liaison, establish a mechanism and platform for effective communication, share information and feedback in a timely manner, and at the same time make full use of the enrollment advantages to seek long-term development and build a win-win situation together, so as to make the Innovation Pilot Class a golden signboard shared by CAS and the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology.
Qi Xiaopeng introduced the talent training programme of the Innovation Pilot Class.He said that the Innovation Experimental Class will implement the four-in-one model of "integration of science and education", integrated training of undergraduate and doctoral programs, personalized training according to the material, and diversified learning and categorization, and work on all aspects from students' in-class learning to the second classroom, aiming to cultivate a group of excellent innovative talents in the field of rare earths.
After the meeting, the leaders met with the students of the innovation pilot class. Liao Wuping and Gong Yaoteng raised high expectations for the students, hoping that they would always uphold the sentiments of their country and take up the mission of the times.
